Veggie Mijas is a food justice organization with a focus on creating an inviting community through sharing recipes, researching and teaching, and hosting events.

Mission Statement

Veggie Mijas’ Mission: “Our mission is to create sacred spaces for folks where they can share their experiences with food or having a plant-based lifestyle through an intersectional lens. Our main focus is sharing space, relearning ancestral practices through foods, share our plant-based recipes, and provide access to information our community needs. This is done through organizing events such as potlucks, vegan panels, farm sanctuary trips, learning how to plant herbs, and much more. Lastly, our goal is to show folks that decolonizing your lifestyle is possible.”

responsibilities

As a senior member of the graphics design team, my responsibilities include the design and execution of event posters, informational graphics, client requests, merchandise launch campaigns, and general promotional material. Some of the work I’ve done for Veggie Mijas can be seen on this page. I also oversee the organization and documentation of all past projects.

Revamping the Organization System

In March, I handled the revamp of the graphics team organization system. This included implementing a concise way for clients to submit and make changes to graphic requests, organizing the way we handle incoming requests to better delegate projects within the graphics team, and creating an archiving system for our complete requests so members could reference them if needed.
